Top 10 Performance Marketing Agencies in Malaysia (2026)

top-performance-marketing-agencies

Quick answer: Performance marketing is paid acquisition bought against a business outcome rather than a reach number. Hiring an agency for it buys four things: a media plan, campaign build and creative, a measurement layer tying clicks to revenue, and the ongoing optimisation between them. The fourth is the only one that compounds, and the hardest to judge from a pitch deck.

This list names ten agencies operating in Malaysia, each verified in September 2026 against its own website plus an independent source. Five names from the previous version were removed: one brand had been absorbed into another, one domain is parked for sale, one site has not been updated since 2023, and two were the wrong sort of company.

For the definition, channels, pricing models and KPI formulas, see our guide to what performance marketing is. This page is about buying it.

Why performance marketing matters in Malaysia right now

Malaysia is one of Southeast Asia’s most connected markets, and that connectivity is what makes paid acquisition so effective here. A few numbers set the scene:

  • Malaysia had 35.4 million internet users at the end of 2025, an internet penetration rate of around 98% of the population (DataReportal, Digital 2026: Malaysia).
  • The country was home to 30.7 million social media user identities in late 2025, roughly 85% of the population (DataReportal, Digital 2026: Malaysia).
  • Malaysia’s digital advertising market is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of about 5.8% between 2025 and 2028, reaching a market volume near US$1.32 billion by 2028 (Statista, Digital Advertising – Malaysia).
  • Across Google Ads accounts, search campaigns tend to deliver the strongest return on ad spend, commonly cited around 5:1 for high-intent search, well above display and many other formats (industry benchmark data, WordStream and Focus Digital).
  • Programmatic buying is set to account for roughly 73% of Malaysian digital ad revenue by 2028, signalling how automated and data-led the market is becoming (Statista, Digital Advertising – Malaysia).

The takeaway is simple. The audience is almost entirely online, ad spend is shifting decisively to digital, and the channels that reward precision are exactly where a capable performance agency earns its fee.

The channels inside performance marketing

Channel

What you buy

Role in a Malaysian account

Paid search

Existing demand, keyed to what someone typed

Base layer for services, B2B and considered purchases

Shopping and Performance Max

Product visibility driven by a feed

Volume driver for retail and ecommerce

Meta ads

Attention, then retargeting

Discovery, remarketing and lead forms

TikTok ads

Attention at lower cost, shorter creative shelf life

Creative led demand generation, strong under 35

Display and programmatic

Impressions across third party inventory

Retargeting and reach, rarely a primary channel

Affiliate and partnerships

Results on commission

Retail and travel, where a network already exists

SEO sits outside the definition because you do not buy the placement, but it belongs in the same plan: paid search tells you within a fortnight which terms convert, the fastest content brief an SEO team will ever get.

How we verified this list

Every agency below was checked in September 2026 against its own website plus an independent source, usually Clutch or a registration number published on the site. We looked for a real office address, paid media as a core service rather than an add on, and credentials on a first party page rather than in a directory.

Five entries from the previous version did not survive. SearchGuru: the Malaysian domain now redirects to NP Digital and the .com belongs to an unrelated company in Ohio. GoFuturistic: the domain redirects to a for sale parking page. Majiska: a 2023 copyright, no address, no named client, no credential. Exabytes: real, but a hosting and cloud provider with a marketing arm, not a media agency. iMarketing.MY: search first rather than performance first.

Inclusion is not endorsement. Verify credentials, pricing and scope before signing.

The ten agencies

1. MediaPlus Digital

We publish this list, so treat our entry as positioning rather than a review, and judge us on the checks above like everyone else.

MediaPlus Digital has built websites and run acquisition campaigns since 2013, with more than 1,000 web and mobile projects delivered, a Google Partner badge, and offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and China. Malaysian headquarters: Miri, Sarawak.

Our case here is scope. Performance marketing includes the measurement build, the landing pages and the conversion work, not just the campaigns. The three commonest reasons a Malaysian paid account underperforms are broken conversion tracking, a landing page designed for a brochure site, and budget spread so thin that no channel learns. All three sit outside what a pure media agency touches. We quote on scope, starting with a free account audit worth RM300.

Best suited to: businesses wanting paid acquisition, organic search and on site conversion run as one programme rather than by three vendors.

2. LOCUS-T

Operating since 2000 from Menara Access World in Petaling Jaya, LOCUS-T holds the deepest verified credential stack here: Google Premier Partner, Meta Business Partner and TikTok Marketing Partner, all published on its own about page, plus Digital Service Provider status with MDEC and SIDEC. Its paid range runs from Google Search, Display, YouTube, Shopping, Demand Gen and Performance Max through Meta, TikTok and Xiaohongshu, wider than most Malaysian independents carry. Clients include 7-Eleven, Amway, Berjaya and Sunway. It took Silver for Performance Marketing Agency of the Year at the 2026 Agency of the Year awards. One note: the site markets 25 years but publishes a registration number issued in 2018, so the brand predates the current legal entity.

Best suited to: established brands wanting a Premier Partner with enough people to cover several platforms properly.

3. Primal Malaysia

Primal runs its Malaysian operation from Mercu 2 in KL Eco City, with the group headquartered in Bangkok, so a Grade A office in Kuala Lumpur and a regional parent are different things here. Google Premier Partner status is real, as are Meta and TikTok partnerships and Malaysian Digital Association membership. Services span Google Ads, Shopping, display, Meta, TikTok, SEO, AI search visibility, conversion rate optimisation and link building, with 150 plus staff group wide and clients including McDonald’s, Dior, Decathlon and IHG.

Primal is one of very few agencies here publishing a minimum: tiers start at MYR 30,000 a month and run above 300,000. If your media budget is RM10,000, this is not your agency, and learning that from a web page saves a fortnight.

Best suited to: advertisers with six figure annual media budgets across several channels.

4. Ampersand Advisory

Ampersand is the largest Malaysian owned independent media agency here, founded around 2016, based at The Boulevard in Mid Valley City, with 51 to 200 staff. The work is media planning and buying, media audits, performance marketing, analytics and martech, creative and consulting. Its credentials are awards rather than platform badges: Campaign Asia Independent Agency of the Year Malaysia five consecutive years, Appies APAC Media Agency of the Year in 2022 and 2024, and the Financial Times High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific list in 2023 and 2024. Clients include Shiseido, CALPIS, Enfagrow, Allianz and TRX.

Be clear what you are buying: performance is one pillar of a full service consultancy, and we found no Google or Meta partner badge on their site. The media audit capability is the differentiator, since few Malaysian agencies will review someone else’s buying and say what it was worth.

Best suited to: brands spending across offline and digital that need media planning discipline, not just execution.

5. Newnormz

Newnormz works from Menara MBMR in Mid Valley City. The legal entity was previously My Weekend Plan Sdn Bhd, a name change disclosed on its own site rather than buried. Clutch dates the founding to 2018 and records seven verified reviews averaging 4.8 out of 5, more independent review evidence than most agencies here can show. The paid side covers Google Ads, Shopping, Display, YouTube, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn alongside SEO, with clients including Chagee and Oriental Coffee.

Two notes. Newnormz holds a Google Partner badge, not Premier, and we found no badged Meta or TikTok partnership despite those services being offered. Clutch records the revenue split as roughly 70% SEO to 10% PPC, so this is a search agency with a capable paid arm rather than a paid media specialist.

Best suited to: businesses running SEO and paid search as one search strategy.

6. Marvant Evolutions

Marvant Evolutions Sdn Bhd was registered in April 2023 and works from Pelangi Square Business Centre in Petaling Jaya. It is the youngest and smallest agency here at 10 to 15 people, and it earns a place as the purest paid media specialist we could verify. The service list is Google Ads across Search, Display and Shopping, plus Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Xiaohongshu, with conversion rate optimisation as a named service rather than an upsell. Both Google Partner and Meta Business Partner badges appear on the site. Clutch puts roughly half its revenue in PPC and paid social combined, the highest paid share we found, on five verified reviews averaging 4.6.

Best suited to: advertisers who want ad accounts run by people who do nothing else, and can live with a young firm.

7. 2Stallions Malaysia

2Stallions is headquartered in Singapore and was founded there in 2012. The Malaysian entity is real and separately registered, 202001034306, incorporated in 2020, at KL Gateway Mall 2 in Bangsar South. We say that plainly because several Malaysian listicles present this agency as locally founded, which it is not. It holds Google Partner status, official TikTok Marketing Partner status and a Shopify Partner listing, and runs SEO, search engine marketing, Meta and TikTok ads, content, email and marketing automation. Clutch shows the Kuala Lumpur listing at 10 to 49 people and a USD 1,000 minimum, one of the more accessible entries here.

Best suited to: Malaysian businesses advertising into Singapore, and the reverse.

8. Xedea

Xedea works from Bandar Sunway in Subang Jaya, holds Google Partner status, and has 10 to 49 staff with a USD 5,000 minimum on Clutch. Services are search engine marketing, Meta ads, YouTube ads, SEO and web development.

It earns its place on a clear vertical: named clients are almost entirely healthcare and clinic groups, including VISTA Eye Specialist, Ozhean A.M Clinic, Apple Physio and Rehab and Maxwell Pharma. Healthcare advertising in Malaysia carries restrictions generalist agencies routinely get wrong, particularly around claims and testimonials, and a team already running compliant campaigns starts weeks ahead.

Best suited to: clinics, specialist medical groups and other regulated service businesses.

Xedea

9. MYSense

MYSense Sdn Bhd operates from Jaya One in Petaling Jaya, holds a Meta Business Partner badge, is a member of the Malaysian Digital Association, and names Mamee and Eu Yan Sang among its clients. The positioning is paid social blended with creator work: creative comes from creators, distribution from paid amplification, and the outcome is measured like any other campaign. If your category lives on TikTok and Instagram, that usually beats studio produced ads on cost per acquisition. Note the tilt, though, since the creator side is heavily weighted: this is not the shop for a search first programme.

Best suited to: consumer brands where creative volume, not bid management, is the bottleneck.

MYSense

10. One Search Pro

One Search Pro Marketing Sdn Bhd was registered in 2019, registration number 201901026344, and works from a shoplot on Jalan Manis 4, Taman Segar in Kuala Lumpur. Clients named on its site include Land and General Berhad and Tropicana. The offering is search led, combining SEO with Google Ads and Meta, at the more accessible end of the market, and we found no partner badge on the site. One caution: it markets more than ten years of experience, which does not reconcile with a 2019 registration. That may be the founders’ careers rather than the firm’s, but ask, because looseness in a credentials claim shows up later in a results claim.

Best suited to: smaller budgets wanting search and paid social handled by one local team.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a performance marketing agency and a digital marketing agency?

A digital marketing agency covers everything online, brand and content included. A performance agency buys media against a measurable outcome and is judged on cost per acquisition and return on ad spend. Our comparison of the two sets out the overlap.

Does a Google Partner badge mean an agency is good?

It means the manager account met three published thresholds: a 70% optimisation score, USD 10,000 of ad spend over 90 days across all managed accounts, and at least half its strategists certified. A low bar for an established agency. Premier Partner is harder: Google limits it to the top 3% of participating companies in each country and weighs client retention and growth.

How long before performance marketing produces results?

Enquiries can arrive within a fortnight on paid search, but reliable results take longer because smart bidding needs a stable volume of conversions first. Budget one to three months and judge the trend, not week two.

How are agency fees structured in Malaysia?

Media spend goes to the platforms; the management fee goes to the agency, and a proposal quoting one figure for both is hiding one. Three models are common. A flat retainer is predictable but the agency earns the same whether it works the account or not, so name the deliverables. A percentage of media spend, usually 10% to 20%, rewards the agency for spending more, so cap the percentage at a spend level. A base plus performance component only works once tracking is beyond dispute. A one off setup fee in month one is normal and its absence is the warning sign, because audit, account build and tracking are real work.

How much media budget do I need to start?

Enough for the bidding to learn. If your expected cost per acquisition is RM150 and a smart bidding strategy needs about 30 conversions a month to stabilise, that is roughly RM4,500 of media before the account is optimising properly. Our breakdown of Google Ads pricing in Malaysia works through the arithmetic by category.

Can I keep my ad accounts if I change agency?

Only if they were created under your business from the start, with the agency added as a manager. If the agency created them under its own manager ID, you may lose the campaign history the bidding learned from. Settle it before the first campaign launches, not at the exit meeting.

Why do the agency’s numbers not match my sales figures?

Ad platforms count conversions on their own attribution windows and models, and two platforms often claim the same sale, so platform totals added together exceed reality. Reconcile against one source of truth, usually your analytics property or CRM, and have the agency report the gap rather than ignore it.

Do I need to worry about PDPA when uploading a customer list for targeting?

Yes. Customer match and custom audience uploads process personal data, and the Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024 tightened obligations on data users. Confirm your consent basis and privacy notice cover this use before uploading. See our guide to PDPA compliance for websites.

The bottom line

Every agency here can run a campaign. The separation happens in the boring parts: whether conversion tracking is right, whether the landing page deserves the traffic, whether the report contains decisions, and whether you own the accounts. Work through the five checks before you read a case study and most shortlists sort themselves out.
